Kala Gulab Jamun


It is a small berry sized balls made of milk solids, flour, kesar and pista fed inside the balls and a leavening agent (substance causing expansion of doughs and batters) and soaked in rose flavoured sugar syrup. It is not much different from the normal gulab jamun just the difference is the texture and colour. Gulab jamun is made from khoya while Kala Jamun is made from khoya with paneer which is cooked for a long time on low heat. Kala jamun is little chewy in taste as compared to Gulab Jamun and have a nutty filling in the centre.

Ingredients : For jamun Milk Powder, Maida / Plain Flour, Baking Powder, Paneer, Milk, Ghee / Clarified Butter, Oil / Ghee. For sugar syrup we need Sugar, Water, Cardamom, Kesar, Lemon juice, Rose water.
